A closer look at Promotional Items for 2019

Louise Manser Louise Manser - 04 March 2019

Promoting your business is not always plain sailing, especially when you’re looking for the most impactful giveaway. Online promoting is accessible 24/7 and often free, yet there will always be a demand for something tangible. Here we take a closer look at global market trends, the all-time winners and how it can be the right choice for you.

Wearable Technology

Fitness has taken a positive forefront leap. Smart watches, trackers and ear buds are on the increase. Staying connected to products that support this positive lifestyle may well set you ahead and ultimately keep you connected. These items will set to stand the test of time and stand out as a high quality choice. Worldwide the number of wearable devices are set reach over 830 million by 2020. Crossing all forms of market industries, this form of technology has been around for some time. More recently entering into the private consumer market, this item could well be the perfect all-rounder for both B2B and B2C.

Millennial Market

Those born between the early 1980’s through to the early 2000’s are referred to as Millennials. Often children of the ‘baby boomers’ they are similarly referred to as the ‘echo boomers’. This generation is thought to be the largest since their parents, they are more tech-savvy and digitally connected than any other generation. Appealing to this market with promotional items may not be at a loss, power-banks, device holders/protectors and confectionary are all winners. With the added bonus that 69% are most likely to positively comment on social media, following a happy experience. Promoting to this generational market, could well be a double winner.

Bioplastics

A complete alternative to single-use plastics, in the form of packaging and reusable travel mugs. Aesthetically bioplastics often look like a single use item, yet these intelligent products decompose in food waste within 12 weeks. In April 2018 Innocent unveiled their recyclable bio-plastic bottle, the top is 50% recycled plastic and the middle 15% plant material. They are aiming for 100% by 2022. Fully recyclable and decomposable products, will be at the heart of promotional growth this year. Supporting the environment along with promoting your business could prove the perfect mix and help create a forward thinking impact.

When presented with a never ending choice of promotional items, these three trend areas should help set you in the right direction. There is an item out there suitable for any budget, but it must be the right item for you and your market.
